Purple Calibrachoa

I’m sure there was a fancy name for this particular shade of purple but while doing research for this post i stumbled across several different names like Hawaiian Luau, Isabell Purple, or Royal King. While you could check the tag that has all of this information that comes with the plant at purchase it isContinue reading “Purple Calibrachoa”

Wandering Wednesday: Revisiting Clinton River Park

Wandering Wednesday: St.Clair Metropark

St.Clair Metro Park is located in the city of Harrison Township Michigan. The park occupies about 770 acres here and is on of my favorite locations to travel to while in south east Michigan. For this particular session I was accompanied by my pal John. We mainly stuck toward the Nature center and did notContinue reading “Wandering Wednesday: St.Clair Metropark”

A Single Leaf

One of many that will be dotting the ground in the coming weeks as the autumn season progresses. Do you have a favorite thing when it comes to Fall? Some people are all about Apple Cider, while other people prefer pumpkin patches and like to turn everything into pumpkins. As for me, it’s all aboutContinue reading “A Single Leaf”

The trail loop itself is about 1.8 miles long or 2.89 km for the rest of you in the world. While on my hiking excursion IContinue reading “Wandering Wednesday: Cranberry Lake Park”

Monochrome Monday: Tiki Umbrella

Big thanks to the nice people on reddit for helping me with identifying this particular fungi! This fungus is also known by the name of Pleated Inkcap and is actually quite common as it can be seen all over Europe and in North America. Fun Fact: The mushroom will develop overnight after rainfall. As itContinue reading “Monochrome Monday: Tiki Umbrella”

Wandering Wednesday: West Bloomfield Woods Nature Preserve Trail

Evidently there was some sort of problem with dog waste in this particular park as there are several signs reminding those who take their canines to this area that should your dog mess, be sure to clean up after it. Dog waste is not a fertilizer and has been known to carry parasitic worms. Yikes!Continue reading “Wandering Wednesday: West Bloomfield Woods Nature Preserve Trail”

Touch Me Not

Also more commonly known by the name of Impatiens but I think Touch Me Not speaks more to the character of the flower. The reasoning behind this is because should you happen to touch a seed pod of this plant, the pod will explode propelling the seed for a new impatient plant several feet orContinue reading “Touch Me Not”

Wandering Wednesday: Return to Don Green Nature Way

It’s been awhile since I hiked along this particular trail. It’s just as green as it was last year, perhaps greener due to all the summer rain we in Michigan have received recently. That being said be sure to bring the big spray; there are a ton of mosquitoes in the area. They say youContinue reading “Wandering Wednesday: Return to Don Green Nature Way”
