Rumor has it this is a replica of an older lighthouse that use to be in the area. This light house was constructed in 2012.
Fun fact: At of all the states in the USA, Michigan has the most lighthouses totaling over 115. To say there is a lot of shoreline along the Great Lakes is a bit of an understatement.
