Here are a couple of fun facts about Painted Turtles:
- When these turtle shed their shell as they grow, their skin resembles a burnt leaf
- A group of turtles is called a bale.
- Painted turtles bask in groups on logs, fallen trees, and objects that are found near the water. The exposure to the sun helps them kill parasites.
