Monochrome Monday: Tiki Umbrella

the tiki umbrella or inkcap mushroom in some leafy plants on the ground.

Big thanks to the nice people on reddit for helping me with identifying this particular fungi! This fungus is also known by the name of Pleated Inkcap and is actually quite common as it can be seen all over Europe and in North America.

Fun Fact: The mushroom will develop overnight after rainfall. As it quickly grows it sheds it’s spores and decays all within 24 hours. Once the cap of the mushroom grows too large it will collapse and by the following day you would be hard-pressed to find any evidence of this fungi ever existing.
