This particular day lily was captured at Wolcott Mill Metro Park back in July 2021.
Fun fact: day lilies are used in Chinese cuisine and are used in dishes such as hot and sour soup, daylily soup, Buddha’s delight and moo shu pork. I’m actually curious as to how these taste so maybe on my next culinary adventure I’ll considering adding some. I know it’s August and the middle of summer here in Michigan but hot and sour soup sounds delicious right about now.
